Alexander Marchuk Tile & Renovation

A written price today, without taking an afternoon off.

Most tilers make you book a visit before they will say a number. Six answers and a few photographs are enough to price it properly.

  • Reply the same day, in writing
  • English, русский, українська
  • No call unless you ask for one
What are you looking to have done?

Pick the closest one — you can add detail at the end.

Roughly how much area?

A guess is fine. It only has to be close enough to price.

Have you chosen the tile yet?

Either answer is normal — it changes the quote, not the welcome.

When would you want it started?

This is the answer that decides whether he can take the job.

Add a few photos

The room as it is today, and a wide shot if you can. This is what lets him price it properly without coming out. Optional, but the quote is much sharper with them.

Where should the quote go?

Written reply the same day. He will not call unless you ask him to.

Your details go to Alexander only. No mailing list.

What is under the tile, photographed.

A photograph of a finished bathroom proves nothing — every failure that matters is underneath it, and by then it cannot be seen. This is one shower he built, in the order he built it.

  • Timber curb and blocking framed at the base of a shower opening, subfloor stripped back to bare board

The curb, built before anything is waterproofed

  • Black PVC shower pan liner dressed up the walls with the corner folded rather than cut

Pan liner corners folded, never cut

  • Orange uncoupling membrane bedded across the shower floor and out onto the bathroom floor

Uncoupling membrane over the whole floor

  • Shower walls and niche fully covered in bonded orange waterproofing membrane, seams banded

Walls and niche sealed as one surface

  • Finished shower with a full-width porcelain bench and a recessed shampoo shelf, veins running through the joints

    The same shower, finished

The rest of the work

What happens after you press send.

Written out because the usual answer is nothing for three days and then an unknown number calling during work.

  1. 01

    You answer six short questions

Two minutes on a phone. The last one is where the quote should go — he asks for the number after you have decided he is worth it, not before.

  2. 02

You add photographs of the room

Optional, and the single most useful thing on this page. Wide shot plus the corners is usually enough to price a bathroom without anybody driving anywhere.

  3. 03

A written quote comes back the same day

Scope written out, not one number on its own. If something in the photos is unclear he writes back with a question rather than padding the price to cover the doubt.

  4. 04

If it fits, he books a date

One site visit before the work starts, to measure and check the substrate. No sales call, and nobody turns up unannounced.

What happens to your photographs.

They are used to price your job and nothing else. They are not published, not passed to suppliers, and not used on this site — the photographs on the work page are all from jobs he has finished, and the people in those houses were asked first.

Your details go to Alexander only. There is no mailing list to be added to, and no reason for anyone else to see them. The whole of it is written out on the privacy page.
